CLASS OVERVIEW

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is often described as “physical chess” – a martial art that teaches kids how to use technique and strategy to overcome size and strength. Unlike striking-based martial arts, BJJ focuses on leverage, body control, and submissions, making it safe, practical, and hugely rewarding for children.

Through our junior program, students learn:

  • Self-Defence Skills – giving them the confidence to stay safe and handle bullying situations responsibly.

  • Fitness & Coordination – developing strength, balance, agility, and overall health.

  • Discipline & Focus – helping with attention, respect, and perseverance both on the mats and at school.

  • Teamwork & Friendship – building confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

Why BJJ for Kids?

BJJ is ideal for children because it promotes problem-solving, resilience, and confidence in a controlled, safe way. Kids learn how to train respectfully with partners, progress at their own pace, and celebrate achievements as they move through the belt system.

ATOS Jiu-Jitsu Affiliation

Our junior program is part of ATOS Jiu-Jitsu, the world-renowned team founded by Professor André Galvão. ATOS is known globally for excellence in both youth and adult development, and our affiliation ensures your child receives:

  • A Structured Curriculum – designed to support steady progress and build strong foundations.
